The ‘Bespoke Elite Speaker Training’ programme was created and founded by professional Keynote Speakers from the world of sport; England rugby International Leon Lloyd and Premier League footballer Paul McVeigh.

One of the most valuable lessons from our training programme is being mentored by two of the most successful Keynote Speakers from the world of sport. Understanding the inevitable challenges and obstacles that inexperienced Speakers face and restrict them from a successful career as a Keynote Speaker.

Both Leon and Paul, who came from humble beginnings of inner-city Coventry and west Belfast respectively, had top class international sporting careers which help them understand the intricacies and nuances of world-class performance. This experience and knowledge, combined with the successful transition out of full-time sport has allowed both to progress into an equally fascinating and challenging industry to amass over 20 years’ experience of Keynote Speaking, delivering their insights to global brands around the world.

Leon Lloyd

Leon started his working career as a professional rugby player in 1995 for Leicester Tigers at the young age of 16. His career at Leicester and Gloucester culminated in winning 6 Premiership titles, 2 Domestic Cups and back to back Heineken Cup trophies.

In the years that have followed, Leon turned his lessons and experiences from rugby into transferrable skills for business, making that all-important transition into the ‘real world’. Combining his passion of sport and business, Leon went on to graduate gaining a First-Class (Hons) degree in Business Leadership and Management. More recently, Leon graduated with an MBA, earning a Distinction grade where his thesis was again around transition and the employability traits of elite athletes.

For many years now Leon has continued to support businesses and those transitioning into business as a Motivational Speaker, sharing his knowledge and key insights around transition, teamwork leadership, culture, communication and resilience.
